It is important to keep track of the progress of the bill to reauthorize No Child Left Behind. This is a link to an Education Week blog. There are some interesting proposals regarding testing and accountability. There is also language to dismantle the successful after school programs such as the 21st Century Community Learning programs, and language to dismantle the SIG grants. It may be worthwhile for the ARI group to draft a letter, signed by all of the partner districts, that make suggestions about the bill. It would be powerful coming from a Race to the Top grantee, especially one that represents rural education. Anyone have thoughts on how the ARI group can weigh in on this legislation? Check out the Ed Week blog and Google other similar topics around this legislation.

Soooo sorry this ESEA reauthorizing bill loaded so many times. I kept getting a message that the service was unavailable when it appears it was uploading it! Whoever has the power can certainly remove the duplicate posts!!
