At Louisa East, as a staff, we have taken the survey in our PLC’s. This is to familiarize our staff with the content of the survey before sending it home. Teachers have included this link on their weekly overviews, websites, and various other social media outlets (homework and classroom apps, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) for our students and parents/guardians. As for hard copies, when children are being checked in or checked out on a daily process, our secretary requests they take a few minutes to complete the survey at that time. We are also reaching out to community members by distributing hard copies to local business, churches, organizations, etc.

Thanks Mr. Dixon! Great ideas. I’m glad you asked for staff to complete first! That allows staff to experience the survey for themselves and understand the “why” behind the questions we are asking. When the staff understands, they will be able to share information when they are questioned about it.
    Thanks

We created a poster with a QR code to direct parents to the survey. We hung the posters up during our District Tournament.

Great Idea Marsha! The QR code was inspired. Be thinking of ways to get some face to face collection as well! Also, the school’s social media sites can be utilized.
    Thanks
