The Cat Mobile renovation is well underway. All construction materials have been delivered. The wrap design is finished and we are collaborating with Young Signs, a local family-owned company, to have it installed. Sponsorship letters are going out today to local businesses to fund the next phase of the project.

The Letcher Co. Central Student Senate as well as the faculty and staff are anxiously awaiting the delivery of our outdoor classroom building materials on Friday. Construction will begin on Saturday. We will post updates and pictures as soon as it is completed.

Hurricane Michael has slowed our building progress due to the availability of certain materials. We have what we need now but are waiting for better weather to complete the project. The roof is all that is left and our Pavilion will be complete.

Grant Summary Pikeville High School With the $10,000 grant we received this year we will be implementing an outdoor gym in the Pikeville City Park. This gym will be completely free for everyone to use. With this gym we hope to combat the current obesity problem in our county. The Student Senators are along with our community partners are gearing up for the construction phase of our projects. We are also getting lots of supports from the community.

New Update: The paint for our new workout facility has been ordered. Our janitor has scraped the walls and filled in any holes. Our equipment is supposed to be ordered today.

Our student senate community project is to open a workout facility to involve the community in the importance of their physical health. We currently have the room cleaned out and measured out and are ready to start getting our equipment and ready to paint the room.

In addition to this we will be talking to teachers about GoNoddle and using our networked TVs to provide healthy information for students, teachers, and parents.
