My Students have already learned so much about the production of plants this year. They know the biology of plant life and how we rely on them for oxygen. They have also learned about how light effects plant life. This knowledge is very important to gardening in the kitchen because we have eliminated the need for sunlight. We have started a variety of plants already. This process will take some time as the plants develop into a state ready for harvest. We began by talking about the amazing process of germination and the many requirements it has to begin life. By then end of the year they will be experts in growing and harvesting plants for their very own kitchen. Healthy eating habits begin here with fresh grown herbs, fruits and vegetables right in our own classroom.
