I was thrilled with the results of my CER Strategies grant. I found that my students are more engaged when they are not provided with an answer, but instead are asked to solve a problem. More engagement ultimately shows a more successful level of understanding and learning. Also, my students reinforce skills throughout the year if they are exposed to a variety of tasks that resemble CER strategies. This improves quality of TCT tasks and responses throughout the year. (This development is ongoing as it is the first true year of this type of task). The materials I purchased really allowed me to develop activities that the students could relate to and use to analyze scientific processes and concepts as well.
