The first dry-run for the Grab N’ Go breakfast program was a huge success! We set a record high for our school’s breakfast participation. Typically only 22% of students participate in Blazer’s breakfast program. We increased participation by 10% by including the Grab N’ Go breakfast.
Two food carts were set up in busy locations on campus between 1st and 2nd periods. As students approached the cart they could choose between mini powdered donuts and a hot chicken biscuit. All meals were served with a milk and fruit. Sixty-two “second chance” breakfasts were served in total.
Students were extremely positive and vocalized their appreciation for the service. One student told us, “You don’t know what a blessing this is for me.”
We can’t wait to share more about the project at the Summit!
