Using Augmented Reality to Replace Missing Historical Landmarks
During the first part of the project we have concentrated on familiarizing our group with computer aided design or CAD. We have worked with several different CAD programs including AutoCad and Sketchup but have decided on using Vectorworks due to the ease of use and availability. For the actual augmented reality we are using products from two companies, Augment and Sight Space Pro. For practice, we have been working on creating a 3D model of our school which is approximately 70% completed. The last part of our project is to recreate a missing landmark in Hazard, KY called the L&N Bridge. The stone ends of the bridge are still in place but the span over the river is missing.
