Reflection of Story #3

The Easter Canvas painting class went great! We had over 70 students, parents and grandparents to attend. Everyone enjoyed the evening and we had positive feedback from everyone. We also had several request for more painting classes. We are excited to offer more of these classes in the future!

Louisa Elementary FRC will facilitate a community event and partner with The Lawrence County Public Library to host an Easter painting class for students and parents at Louisa East Elementary School on April 18, 2019 from 4-6:00pm.

I used the CommunityACT surveys to invite community members to become involved in the CommunityAct program. I handed the surveys out at our annual BabyFest Community Event. Story #3 Reflection

Wonderful news! Our Eagle Enrichment program’s success will hopefully be mirrored at Flat Gap Elementary, as they have just received grant funding to provide a similar program at their site. I know our students absolutely love our before and after school programming!

Story #2 Reflection:

The students decided that they want to collaborate with our media arts students to create a video of their project showcasing the many ways JC prepares students for the workforce. This video can be pushed out to potential community partners. Hopefully they can get started on that after spring break.

Louisa East Elementary’s story #2 will be on our Dr.Seuss Day, “Read Across America.” Louisa Elementary Family Resource center partnered with local community partners to read throughout the day to students at Louisa East and West Elementary Schools.

Louisa East Elementary Community Engagement will do a school brochure to inform our staff, students, and community members of all the wonderful things going on at Louisa East. The brochure will accessible online as well.

Fallsburg Elementary Community Engagement team will be doing our initial story on Coaching sessions that were implemented this school year to build relationships between students, faculty and staff.
