The KVEC HHS Student Senate Leadership Team won the U.K, Cares Community Engagement Award recently and was honored at the UK CCTS annual conference in Lexington, for their T.A.P. project. As part of their Hazard Student Plan, the students have collaborated with UK and Melinda Ickes, director of UK Graduate Studies Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. T.A.P. (Tobacco-free Ambassador Partnership) is a student driven project to educate youth and community members on the dangers of tobacco and e-cigerettes and to advocate for smoke and tobacco-free policies.
