My innovation grant has been for the most part successful. My students have their favorite place to sit and work. I am pleased with how the students and parents have reacted to the new seating.

Students and brook trout from Hans Doderer’s classroom at Paintsville High School where his students are raising brook trout to release locally with funding from a learning innovation grant from ARI and KVEC.

The Lego WeDo 2.0 Kits have been a huge success. All third graders at Paintsville Elementary have been able to enjoy the benefits of hands-on science tasks. We even partnered with Mrs. Blankenship’s third grade class to walk them through using the kits!

Excited about the money I received from KVEC in order to implement Lego Robots! Students are able to work on Next Generation Science Standards while working on 21st Century skills.

My Grant proposal, Exciting Adventures with Kindergarten Readiness with Tiggly and Osmosis. With the big push for Kindergarten Readiness for preschool children in Kentucky the action research for this gran considers the student’s involvement as they begin a foundation of learning in number recognition and Alphabet recognition skills.

I really enjoyed working with my project even though it was very time consuming. It was very rewarding. The attached Powerpoint shows the process and progress of my project entitled Step on Me Think Outside the Classroom.

I have found that my project is time consuming and a lot of work but the end results and reactions from students and adults is awesome.
