Story #3 Reflection

Wonderful news! Our Eagle Enrichment program’s success will hopefully be mirrored at Flat Gap Elementary, as they have just received grant funding to provide a similar program at their site. I know our students absolutely love our before and after school programming!

Story #2 Reflection:

The students decided that they want to collaborate with our media arts students to create a video of their project showcasing the many ways JC prepares students for the workforce. This video can be pushed out to potential community partners. Hopefully they can get started on that after spring break.

We have been working on our needs list for purchase. We had originally planned to purchase a complete transportable sound system. Hurricane Michael has slowed our building progress due to the availability of certain materials. We have what we need now but are waiting for better weather to complete the project. The roof is all that is left and our Pavilion will be complete.

One of the new additions to my room this year has been white boards around the walls!!! Talk about one excited math teacher!!! The past few weeks we have been using the boards during partner work and problem solving. They love working together and I can assess while they are working right in front of me! I love it!!!

The Student Senate members created an announcements presentation that played continuously on the TV they purchased and mounted in the Commons Area at Paintsville High School. The presentation is posted below.

My ARI mini grant has helped to add to my classroom. Students are using technology on a regular basis to study science. We have been able to add a new area for computer station work. The student engagement has greatly improved.
