To future peer mentors, Hello, my name is Andrew Thacker and I am a senior at Pike Central highshool for the class of 25 school year.I have been a peer mentor for this year and have hung around this class for the last three.In my time here I have learned and have gotten to experience so many lasting memories with this program. I have gotten to make lasting connections with these kids and learned how to reach and connect in more creative ways.My teachers Mrs.Bartley,Mrs.Lisa, and Mrs.Anita, have been wonderful teachers that have showed me what the qualities of a special needs educator are. I highly encourage all that are going to be taking this program to try your absolute best to make their time here learning as fun and as informative as possible. Through your own creativity and ways of interacting you will make unique and lasting bonds with these students that will give you lifelong appreciation and understanding for people with special needs. My experience here has been the most fun I’ve ever had in school and it really is sad that I wont be able to come back next year to do this again, I hope that whoever is next will be able to get the same experiences that I had and get the most out of this program.
