Since beginning our Accelerated Reading program through Renaissance, our teacher -created AR tests have been a great success. We have students that have already made their AR goal in January. Compared to last year, we have more students that are taking AR tests earlier, and our struggling readers are able to participate earlier as well. Students that have met or exceeded their goal can be found on the “Look Who Got Caught Reading” bulletin board. The binding machines have been used to create books for the purpose of meeting the needs of our first grade students with an emphasis on our emergent readers. We are able to track teacher-created tests compared to the tests in the Renaissance library by looking at the AR quiz numbers.
