Pairing the tool “Reading for Meaning” with Coach Digital Reading Passages on Inferencing

I have been teaching for 11 years and each year I watch students struggle with inferences. That is why I chose to complete my action research around the reading for meaning tool which provides students with basic cues to make inferences all on their own. After incorporating the reading for meaning tool in my teaching, students not only increased their formative and summative assessments by 75%, but they were also able to explain why and how they reached their conclusions. The reading for meaning tool is a great resource to use with students while teaching inferences in reading.
