The Magoffin County Community Foundation has recently formed a partnership with Magoffin County Schools with the hope that this collaboration will encourage students to take an active role in shaping their community and to provide them with the opportunity to participate in community service projects throughout the county. The students of Magoffin County have dubbed the name of the collaboration “Project ECHO,” anticipating that their work will echo throughout the region and influence many generations in the future.
To kick off this exciting venture, Project Echo is hosting a talent expo at Magoffin County High School on April 13, 2017. Middle and high school students will be showcasing their talents for the community through music, dance, art, drama, cuisine, trade skills, and various other aptitudes. The preshow begins at 6:15 p.m. During this time, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the new high school and observe students practicing their crafts. The main performance will take place in the gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $1.00 for students and $2.00 for adults. All proceeds will go to the Magoffin County Community Foundation.
