I love photography, especially from Polaroids or from the early 1900âs, just anything that looks vintage. It can show us things we see everyday from a completely different perspective, or it can show you what a person cares about more than anything.
I was looking for inspiration for a new collection of pictures, when I came across Sally Mannâs collection âMy Familyâ. At the time it was published there was a lot of controversy surrounding the content of the photos, personally when I first saw them I was in awe at how much she loved her work and her family, she didnât care how they looked to anyone else.
I remembered reading in an article about that collection and she said “I like to make people a little uncomfortable. It encourages them to examine who they are and why they think the way they doâ. This is what gave me the inspiration to create this collection, âHumansâ.
I asked a few of my close friends to be my models, I tried to capture my favorite features about them, and if i couldnât pick one I would just see where the lens landed first. I enjoy seeing their reactions to my work, and finding their most notable assets.
