Update on Google student certification. Our 8th grade students have been working on several different apps over the first semester: Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Students have been creating presentations about the colleges they want to attend and sharing documents with other students

So the Rocketbook app is how you make everything work, once a students finishes has work, you can upload it using the rocket app, which is free. Using it you can set up to 10 different destinations that the material can be uploaded. Multiple Emails, google drive folders, One drive folders, and a whole lot more…

Here is the Rocketbook Fusion, It has a variety of pages that the student one does not. The student version only has the dot version, where as the fusion has calendar, objective, idea and project templates. Both come with pen and eraser sheet. Also, you can use water to erase the pages so you can start over again and again.

Just wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone (Teachers, Students, Principals, and administrators) in the KVEC region for doing such a great job this year. I was so impressed with all the presentations going on yesterday and I hope to see even more great things next year. Thanks again, have a wonderful rest of the year.

Students in Mr. Thompsons class are using digital tools to created videos. Today, I meet with the students on what they could do to improve their products. Items like adding sound and graphics where so of the things that we discussed. I’m very proud of our students they are doing a wonderful job creating these resources.

The students who are members of the TSC School Bank have collectively saved almost $1,000.00! They learned out checking and savings accounts and practiced writing checks and balancing a ledger. One of the student comments was, “Thank you for teaching us something we can actually use!”

What does the day look like for chicken farmers, well at JCS students are getting to learn just what it’s like. The Paintsville Tiger Savings Club (TSC) Bank is going strong! 30 plus students have opened an account and we have collectively saved over $500.00. We still have 2 months to go and it’s not too late to sign up.

Today our group worked on seeing if we could live stream through the SlingStudio onto our Youtube page. We are very excited to say it worked very well. This will lead to more things that we can do with our new technologies.

In addition to our leadership team working on the “Celebrating Educator and Student Success at the Capitol” they were very interested in showcasing all the leadership activities that our school is involved in. My grant for 2018-19 is called “A Penny Saved” and is a school-based bank savings program for middle and high school students.

Grant Recipients are starting to get some of their items they ordered. A lot of great things will be happening because the teachers care so much about their students. We are all so proud of them.

Today, I meet with our ARI Grant Recipients and discussed purchasing, responsibilities, posting, and upcoming dates that are required of them.

We are so proud of all our teachers who submitted applications this year. This is going to be a great year at Jackson City.

The Paintsville Middle School Entrepreneur project was a great success. Four of our entrepreneurs/teams won at regionals. Several businesses are still taking orders and producing goods to sell. The ARI Fire Summit was a great way for these students to showcase their hard-work and talent. The students are already brainstorming ideas for next year!

Also, I spoke to my Original Trainers and asked them how many videos they had created this year since the training. They had stated that they had created over 100 videos this year.
