Hello, My name is Mallory Lester and i attend Pike County Central as a Junior. Mrs. Wright has allowed me and my fellow classmates to work with our peers and each of us love every minute of it. I am so happy to be apart of this class and to help them learn and teach them new things. I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity.

Hello my name is Mallie Grizzle from Pike County Central high school. In my peer tutor class we are currently talking about valentines day, doing valentines day activities. I love being able to do different activities with them such as drawing, coloring and talking with them about how our days have gone. We always have fun in this class and i love being a part of it. 🙂
Community-Based Instruction trips provide for so much more skill transference and meaningfulness when our peer tutors get to accompany our exceptional needs students to accomplish a task in the authentic environment for performing that task. They can provide insight to 'normal' concerns and questions for teenagers specific to that location. We are looking forward to many more such experiences in the spring.
My name is Mallie Grizzle from Pike County Central high school. In my class we are currently very excited for valentines day tomorrow, today we read a book about valentines day. I look forward to being able to celebrate valentines day with my class. I hope i am able to make their day special. My plan is to bring a little surprise for each of them tomorrow and i can't wait to see the smiles on their faces when they get to open their treat bags tomorrow.
Hello, my name is Breanna Miller. I'm a peer mentor in Mrs. Bartleys life management at Pike Central. I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity. One of my favorite memories from this year is being able to help a peer, express their thoughts. One of my peers is non-verbal. So sometimes it's hard for them to communicate. I was able to use a special tool that used guidance from their eyes to select an answer choice. It made me so happy to know they were able to communicate their choices.

Everyday, i love being in this class and having the opportunity to be here and help all I can. I want to thank Dr.Will for giving us this chance to work with these students.

I would like to thank Mallory for helping Josh with his words and pictures in Mrs. Wrights Pike Central High School Life Management Class. The reading section is on the Wind and Willows reading and writing session.
Hello, I’m Jade’n Thacker from Pike County Central High School. This week we focused on Dr. Seuss. I loved reading Green Eggs and Ham with them today and encouraging them to color their Green Eggs and Ham coloring sheets. The students loved engaging in the reading and showing me their progress on their coloring sheet. I loved seeing their smiles when they found out what the next page of the book held, and laughing because of how silly the book is. I love making my friends smile, and being someone they can trust to come to when something troubles them. These students make my day so much better even when life throws its worst at me. This class will forever be one of my favorites and I’ll never forget the memories.
Hey All!
Its a VERY busy time here at KCC! However, it is also a very fun time! We will be competing in Special Olympics at Johnson County Central on Saturday and I am so excited that most of our peer tutors will be going along to coach our athletes! Then, next Saturday is PROM! It it always so fun to watch our students and peer tutors prep and plan all of the fun prom activities. Also, this Friday, one of my senior peer tutors, who is a state champion speech competitor, will be giving a speech at ALC about disabilities, being an advocate, and the enriching relationships that peer tutoring bring. Needless to say, I am incredibly proud of her. Hope all is well with all of you. I'm sure yall have a lot of spring activities going on as well. Drop a line and let me know what things are going on in your classrooms!
