It's currently the summer after I graduated. I graduated with some of my peers and have never been so proud. I can't help, but find myself constantly missing my peers and thinking about them. This program has permanently changed and impacted my life in such a huge way. I will never forget this program and plan to visit the school often just to check on and spend time with my peers that are still there and the teachers too. I miss them more than anything. This program has made such a positive impact on me, my life, and my peers. It made it hard to leave and hard to be happy that I graduated. I am beyond proud of all of my peers and it makes me miss them a little more which feels impossible. I can't thank everyone enough for allowing me to have this amazing experience and privilege.
I hope your road to continuing your helpful, loving interactions with those that face greater challenges in their everyday lives will offer many blessings. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist you in your career development activities. Thank you again for being you and enriching the lives of our life management students in so many arenas! I have included a pic of senior banquet dancing when you got them in the middle of all the fun, as usual!
Hi! My name is Kinsey Thacker, I am a senior at Pike County Central High School. I am in Ms. Bartley and Mrs. Wright's Life management classes. Before I was in these classes I didn't really think about these classes, I knew of them and when I would see them sometimes during some of my classes. This year when I went to fix my schedule I didn't even know it was an option to be in these classes. I am so glad that I am in these classes tho because it has taught me a lot, the students and the teachers. I loved getting to know each student and begin new friendships. The teachers are so kind and they teach me new things everyday. Being in these classes has made me realize I want to do something similar to this when I get older. These classes have even made me want to come to school more, I truly believe these are my favorite classes I've ever had.
My name is Olivia Ward and I am a senior at Pike County Central High School, and my peer mentor advisor is Angela Bartley. I really enjoy this program and all of the people in it. I have made some great new friendships in this class and have great interactions every day. There is only one girl in my class and I feel we have made a good connection. When I graduate I want to go to college and major in biology to pursue a career in medicine. It is good to get this experience now, so that in my future career I can know how to handle diverse situations to be the best I can be. Can't wait to see what the future of this program holds and how it will continue to impact my life.
Hello, I am Andrew Thacker and I am a senior at Pike county Central High school. I peer mentor in Angela Bartley’s life management class and have hanged around in their room since my sophomore year and I am just now officially becoming a peer mentor. This class has taught me a lot how to reach these kids and make their learning experience fun. In my time in there I have made lasting connections to some of them that lasts to this day. It’s a hope of mine that I can make this last year with them memorable and fun and leave them with a good experience with their time learning with me in their class.
Hello, my name is Corby H. I am a peer mentor with Angela Bartley’s classroom. At first this year I was a little bit nervous to begin this class but now I can say this class is amazing. The connections I make with not only the students but the teachers as well has been a blessing. I can not wait for all the wonderful memories I will continue to make this school year.
