Our students attended a Transition Conference on September 30, 2022 at Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Prestonsburg.  I have several 10th and 11th grade students who are currently enrolled in the nursing program through our vocational school.  They really enjoyed attending the nursing program session.  They stated their favorite thing was the demonstration of checking blood pressure and giving a shot.  I have several 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who are currently enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance program.  They stated their favorite thing was the demonstration of using different type of welding.  The Transition Conference was a great opportunity for my students.  I believe experiencing the different sessions made them more aware of what Big Sandy has to offer them after high school.
