They also use cempoaxochitl, or marigolds. food is also an important part of the holiday. Pictures are also put on the alters. People make a path to the alter out of flower petals. All saints day is the day before the day of the dead. people make sand sculptures. November 2nd is the official day of the dead. People all get together to celebrate this holiday. Songs are played to celebrate.
