WHERE IM FROM POEM
I am from, fishing poles on a weekend evening, from basketball outside of my fence, and my favorite icing on every birthday cake.
I am from, the house where everyone lives close together and every kid plays with one another.
I am from, sharing a room with my siblings, from playing outside from sun up till sun down, from the sweet smell of my granny’s cooking when its time to come in.
I am from the mornings where it’s hard to stay awake getting ready for school and always having breakfast first thing in the morning.
From ” put your tooth under your pillow tonight” and ” go to bed or santa cant come until you do”.
I am from walking into church for vacation bible school and listening to every word and the smell of the refreshments in the other room.
I am from, Loyall where everyone gives a friendly hello from gravy biscuits every morning i want some.
From the sweet, gentle goodbye hug I get from my granny as I leave for school, from the water splashing off my papaws fishing line as he casts out.
I am from, the loving walls of a house filled with memories from every person in each frame that i’ve shared every sweet memory with3 Comments
