Our ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday was a success! We were joined by members of the Board of Education, Board of City Commissioners, Representative Terri Branham Clark, Senator Robin Webb, and our sponsors. This was the first time our sponsors got to see the finished work. They were as excited as us!

We are looking ahead to this summer, when the truck will make daily stops at five locations. These locations include elementary schools, motels/low-income housing, and emergency shelters. The district will cover the cost of any meals prepared this summer.

In the next phase of renovation, we will be purchasing a stove/oven and ventilation hood. We will be applying for the next round of Community Challenge Grants. On behalf of Cassie, Ms. Heishman, and I, thank you so much to KVEC and to the Community Challenge Grant for making this initiative possible. We can’t wait to report back to you in August… CATmobile to the rescue!!
