What a Food Show! On April 30th, KVEC brought together 11 vendors, food service directors from across our 28 member districts, and a group of students who got to be Food Critics for a Day!

The Setup
Nine vendors set up booths at the KVEC offices in Hazard, and two more, National Food Group and Kellanova, sent in samples and swag. From chicken to chips, juice to pizza, dairy to cleaning supplies, there was something for everyone.
The Booths included:
- Hillyard
- DD Reckner
- Rizwitsch Sales
- PepsiCo
- Peterson Farms
- MPK Commodity Processing Group
- The Dairy Alliance
- Tyson Foods
- Affinity
- National Food Group
- Kellanova

Food Critics for a Day
The real stars of the show were our student food critics from Hazard Independent and Jenkins Independent. Twenty-two students tasted their way through every vendor and rated them on a 5-star scale. The verdict? They loved it, the event earned a 4.4 average satisfaction score out of 5.
Some of our favorite student reviews:
“Everything was amazing” — on Rizwitsch Sales
“So good!” — on DD Reckner
“I love the wings & pizza!” — on MPK
“Can’t tell it’s veggie” — on Peterson Farms
“2 stars for cool dude” — on Hillyard (they don’t serve food, but the students still had fun)
Thank You to Our Vendors
This event doesn’t happen without our vendors showing up and showing out. Thank you to everyone who set up a booth, sent samples, donated door prizes, and made the day special.
