Mary Belcher – KVEC’s Instructional Lead and Learning Acceleration Specialist

Mary Belcher is an Instructional Lead and Learning Acceleration Specialist with the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative. 

Mrs. Belcher has dedicated 25 years of service to Kentucky’s public education system.  She began her career as a 7th-grade science teacher. She taught for 16 years with 3 years working in the Pike County School System and 13 years with the Pikeville Independent School System.  She later served 8 years as the Director of Federal Programs/Instructional Supervisor of Pikeville Independent.   

I’m so happy to be here at KVEC to be able to assist students throughout the region.

Mary Belcher

Raised in Elliott County, Kentucky, Mrs. Belcher completed her bachelor’s degree at Alice Lloyd College with certification in Elementary Education and an endorsement to teach middle school math and science.  She completed her Masters in Elementary Counseling with Morehead State University along with a certification for Instructional Supervision a few years later.   She completed National Board Certification in 2007 in Early Adolescent Science.  Mrs. Belcher has received the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award in recognition of her servant leadership along with being mentioned in the Who’s Who of America’s Teachers.

Mrs. Belcher lives in Pike County, Kentucky with her husband Johnny and daughter Sarah.
