KVEC’s transition work serves high school students in 15 school districts ages 15-21 with an IEP or 504 plan. The transition opportunities are funded by the State of Kentucky’s Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, predicated on the Federal Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act.
Throughout the school year, students enjoy multiple Pre-Employment Training Services experiences (Pre-ETS) in the areas of Post-Secondary Education Counseling, Job Exploration, Self-Advocacy, Work-based Learning Experiences & Workplace Readiness Training (soft skills)…through In-School Workshops, Trips, Summer Experiences & Transition Conferences.
It is our hope and belief that the transition work will inspire and motivate students to continue to think, plan and prepare for their future beyond high school.
