My students recently wrote the scripts that would provide the narration for their virtual field trip of Lynch, Kentucky the town that US Coal and Coke Company, a division of US Steel, built! Visual images of archival photographs along with panoramic views of the area today will showcase the awesome “place” that lead the world in coal production and help win World War II. This was the culminating activity for us, but the students want it to just be the beginning. Their pride in their county has been born, and they are seeking ways to help it grow by leaps and bounds.
