It took me most of the day, but I was able to get my Nexus 5 to “mostly” work with the Samsun Galaxy Gear. I enjoy my Pebble, but I wanted to see if I could get the Nexus and Gear to talk to one another. Samsung is crazy for keeping their smartwatches locked to Samsung phones.
