Fallsburg Elementary School Reflection on Story #3: Lawrence County Family Resource Center partnered with Community partners for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. The month was kicked off with the signing of the Child Abuse Prevention Proclamation with County Judge Executive Phil Carter. FRYSC coordinators displayed signs and pinwheels at each Lawrence County School, as well as the Clerk’s Office, Judge Executive’s office, Sheriff’s Office, DCBS, and local churches. Also, FRYSC collaborated with UNITE to bring guest speaker Nathan Harmon to discuss substance abuse–this fostered a greater sense of awareness. At the Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Event on April 26th, various community partners tabled and brought resources and information on prevention. Ramey Estep hosted child care for kids 0 to 3 to allow parents to gain as much information as they could. Over 300 people were in attendance; it was a great success! Brenda Curry / Teresa Prince-
