This type of cross-district collaboration and maybe even sharing of PL opportunities based on PGP needs of teachers/staff will become a model…this is BEYOND exciting. I want to help in any way I can!!

Susan, Letcher County Central High School has a very well established peer counseling program that you may want to look at. Upperclassmen are trained in peer mediation and work with students to help settle issues and they also tutor in our Freshmen studies classes.

For my capstone project, I would like to focus on a strong mentoring system at our high school for our students with special needs. We have a working model, but I would like to take this a step further and build a strong mentoring foundation that will be the model for the the whole high school.

This is exactly what I am hoping to work with in our district. I would love to be able to share ideas and collaborate on this if you’d be willing. Also, I have a PL needs survey that we did at the end of last year with our teachers. I’d be happy to share as a sample if you’re interested. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
