Stephanie Hammonds and I wrote our grant to purchase LiveScribe Reading Pens and Quicktionary Pens to use with our high school special education students. We had the most success with the LiveScribe pens. We mainly used the pens to record vocabulary words, definitions and classroom notes which were then uploaded to Evernote and emailed to students individually. We found that the students quickly learned to access their Evernote accounts to work with the files on their own. We see a lot of potential for using this device to help students to improve vocabulary and read more independently.
