OK the moment you have been waiting for has arrived. First, let me congratulate the students whose works were selected to be published during the first “Art Gallery Workshop”. These books were evaluated based on every aspect of the workshop; from story to artwork. It was a very, very hard decision on behalf of those who did the judging. The students whose works were selected will go on to conduct various book signings and have their work available online for purchase through STARS Publishing (Students Transforming Appalachia with Real World Solutions). I would like to thank the people at KVEC (especially Kelli Thompson), and the folks making up the ARI overseer group, for making this opportunity possible for our students.

Please know that this was such a difficult decision! All of those involved with carrying out the first “Art Gallery Workshop”, from logistics to book selection, are very proud of our students. Please don’t be discouraged if your book wasn’t selected. Another “Art Gallery Workshop” is coming up… so there’s another chance to make it!!!
