Highland Elementary’s CmPS team, “All We Need Is Love” worked hard to “STOMP OUT BULLYING” within the walls of their school. They did this by improving students communication and social interaction skills, which in turn created a loving environment where everyone could be confident in themselves. They stressed the importance of social and psychological development in students within their school. They used the ARI grant money to purchase a “buddy bench” that is being placed on their playground. If a child feels like they need a friend, they just have to set on the bench and someone will run to their rescue. In addition, they read books to primary students, painted windows with motivational sayings, made announcements, held “Stop Bullying Rallies,” played interaction games with others, created a website with an anonymous tip line, gave motivational speeches, wrote grants, hosted dances, and held community choir events all in an attempt to further their cause.
