These are pictures of the students experimenting with live specimens under the microscope and performing the Genes in the Bottle Lab. Also, they performed a couple crime scene investigations using gel electrophoresis. These hands-labs were accompanied by research and virtual labs. The students wrote a paper and took 3 benchmark test /final EOC test to see how their progress changed. Each student showed improvement from the beginning of the year to the end of the year with all performing better than at the beginning of the year. They believed that the hand-on activities helped in the understanding of the material.
