Hello everyone. Just want to remind all the students with short stories (or chapter books) to be making the edits to their work for the resubmission. We found substantial mistakes and grammatical errors throughout the books submitted. This is typical with publishing, but this is also a good time for students to learn about an aspect of publishing that we didn’t cover in depth within the workshop, and that’s editors / editing.

Some books had less mistakes than others, but all books had some. Between now and February 15th student with chapter books are required to review their work and check for mistakes. Teachers, please send me a digital copy of their revised manuscript alone by February 15th 2017.

Thanks for your continued help and support to make this opportunity the most it can be for the students. All books will be published ‘as is’ once we receive the revised manuscripts. Should a student or school not send in a revised copy, we will have to published whatever current copies of the books we have.

Thanks everyone! I am really excited about what’s to come. Students will have their first book signing at the expo center in April. All picture books are in good shape. We are able to edit those due to the limited amount of text involved.
