      Hello everyone,

Hope that everyone is doing well. Thanks for your patience regarding the student book publishing project. I also appreciate all the hard work that you have put into helping your students to submit their work.

We are processing the chapter / short stories at the moment. The processing of the picture books is finished and the files are with the printer.

Please look over the information below so that you are aware of where we will go from here.

All of the students selected for publishing will need to participate (if possible) at their first book signing on April 12th at the Pike County Expo Center in Pikeville, KY. They will need to be at the Expo Center by 9am to set up their tables.

In preparation for their first signing we encourage students to bring with them certain materials to place on their table. These materials are optional, but they add to the experience of those visiting the student’s table. In the past, students have produced bookmarks to hand out, flyers with a summary of their book on it, buttons, original artwork of their characters for sale, etc. Students in the past have also created a poster to hang on the front of their table with the name and logo they chose as their publishing imprint.

Marketing and promotion are topics that will be covered more extensively with for the 6 students that go on to participate in the Entrepreneurial Book Publishing Project, however, it’s always good to show the public (the customers) that students are interested in sharing their book with them.

The application for the Entrepreneurial Book Publishing Project will be available at the Expo Center on April 12th. Those interested in applying for the program will be instructed then on the process and what to expect should they be selected.

Thanks again for all your patience and hard work. Let’s continue to push forward to make this expierence the best it can be for your students.

      My best,

      Christopher
