We have recently started our project of implementing virtual reality in social studies classrooms. Due to rising education and transportation costs, students have limited access to informative and compelling field trip opportunities. Likewise, due to our location, many engaging sites are out of the reach of feasible travel distances. We hope that the use of virtual reality will allow students to effectively engage distant locales and content in order to increase educational efficacy.
