Nice. Visual, real world examples are the best. Some students may have actually filled a condiment cup with ketchup before – it’s definitely something they could try themselves if they wanted to test it out. What grade do you teach?
I especially like the question with 7.EE.3 – having students reason between two different methods and two different answers to determine which is correct, why, and where any mistakes were made – that’s rich.
Wow – so many different types of models – that’s so great! (Love Mr. Fredricksen’s house) I could see students learning almost as much from examining differences in each other’s models as creating their own.
