Just wanted to take the time to update you on what Ms. Rebecca Potter and I are trying to do this year. We are working on another documentary with even a greater number of students involved in the filmmaking process. Actually, we are working on 2 documentaries: the main production is titled “Heroes On Every Hand: They Just Never Told Us” which is our continued effort to record the oral and visual history of the inhabitants of our county and region. The 2nd documentary is one highlighting the behind the scenes activities entitled “The Making of Heroes on Every Hand: A Behind the Scenes Look”.

While we worked on last years production “Piling Up Stones: A Collection of Mountain Memories and Wisdoms” we were amazed at the contributions that the individuals we were honored to interview had quietly and humbly made to the history of our nation and our region. We felt a responsibility to continue and involve more students and more interviewees in the next production. I hope that this effort will be as much of a blessing as the initial production was.
