My students are working on a bio-diesel project using a 1984 Mercedes diesel engine and converting to run on cooking oil or commonly called (WVO-Waste vegetable oil). The project is coming along great. The engine is currently being fitted to a mobile cart that we will have with us in April for display.

Students have been working a minimum of 30 minutes per day, 3 times per week on building their sight recognition. They enjoy using the sight word apps and progress is being made in sight word recognition.

With my grant, I received one Android convertible tablet, 2 Kindles and 2 iPads. We will be using these devices to increase sight word recognition using multiple sight word apps.

Bringing programming to Life with Lego WeDo has been a wonderful addition to my classroom. I was able to purchase 5 sets and allowed students to work in groups to create and code with the legos. I am currently looking at my teacher evaluations I have received over the past few years. I always scored low in technology. However, my last two evaluations have scored higher in technology since I received my Boogie Boards. Not only are the students 100% engaged when we use them, my teacher evaluations are better!
