Offering rigorous computer science at the high school level has been challenging. The challenges come not with the implementation necessarily, but that the curriculum purchased with the grant is not the most engaging for students. While the students do agree that they are learning, they are not having fun. If computer science is going to be implemented in Eastern Kentucky schools with the goal of building computer science programs, students will have to enjoy/look forward to the class.
Even though they are not having fun with the curriculum, students do enjoy the collaboration and helping one another.
