Families, Educators, and Community Partners Building a Groundswell for a Big Bold Future

The Groundswell Summit is a networking and resource-gathering opportunity for Kentucky educators, families, administrators, and other community leaders who are seeking new and innovative ideas for increasing student success. The Summit pre-event on Wednesday, June 14th,  includes bus tours to five locations within Floyd County that highlight family-school-community partnerships and local laboratories of learning. Thursday, June 15th begins The Great Schools Showcase poster session, followed by a plenary panel of Eastern Kentucky alum and an awards ceremony that recognizes individual and collective efforts to create great schools. The day concludes with sessions featuring national experts in family, school, and community partnerships.

The 2023 Groundswell Summit will be held in Floyd County, Kentucky located in the Cumberland Plateau of the Appalachian Mountain Range. June 14th and 15th-educators, families and community members, from across Kentucky will meet together at Floyd Central High School to share innovative ideas and practices for education in Kentucky and a Big Bold Future for Kentucky students.

June 14th will begin with an evening reception that will be held at the Floyd Central cafeteria followed by a bus tour to five locations showcasing family, community and student engagement.

3. Family Engagement Tour-Library Family SPARK Event

4. East KY Science Center Tour and Planetarium Show

5. Mountain Arts Center Tour and possible Junior Pro Student Performance

The morning of June 15th will kick off with the Great Schools Showcase poster presentations followed by a line-up of speakers and sessions focused on family, school and community partnerships.
