It took me most of the day, but I was able to get my Nexus 5 to “mostly” work with the Samsun Galaxy Gear. I enjoy my Pebble, but I wanted to see if I could get the Nexus and Gear to talk to one another. Samsung is crazy for keeping their smartwatches locked to Samsung phones. I’m hoping when Google released the Android Wearables SDK this summer I’ll be able to flash the Gear with that. I’ll keep posting about the process as I get more functionality figured out. Not a bad way to spend a rainy Saturday.
