8th Grade students at Jackson Independent used local events to relate “The Outsiders” a book that the class has been reading. Today, I was lucky to be at school to see the video that Mrs. Havicus presented to her students. My son, Jarrod was in the class when the video was being shown to the class and I told him that his grandmother lived there during the time of the events that happened. This really hit home with him and how he can now relate to this book. Great experience for the students.
