Monday we removed the snow and ice from the low tunnels and inspected the damage. Some of the produce didn’t survive, so those beds will be cleaned out in preparation of Spring planting. We were pleasantly surprised by the kale that not only survived the negative temperatures, but looks great! Another surprising discovery was the durability of the Grow Guard row fabric that covers our tunnels. There were no tears, rips or damage of any kind. A couple of the PVC pipes broke from the weight of the snow/ice, but the fabric was extremely tough!
