The 2019 Fire Summit is quickly approaching . I am once again looking forward to a time when I get to talk with other educators and share ideas and mostly GAIN ideas to bring back to my classroom. I always bring severeal students with me and that is really one of the best parts of my day. I try to choose students who will do a great job, but ones who have rather limited experiences outside the classroom. I am so honored that this opportunity is available to me to get something in my classroom that would otherwise never happen due to lack of funding. However, it is a day that is so incredible for some of my precious students…my KIDS! To see them present to adults in a very professional manner sends chills down my spine. I get to see them out of the context of the classroom and have a day filled with seeing one another in a new light…not as teacher to student but partner to partner. This is one of the best days of the year for me and those students. In doing this I am hoping that they see the world beyond their classrooms and that the experience empowers them and makes such an impression on them that their “tides” turn toward knowing that the world is full of opportunities and that they have what it takes to do whatever they wish. I LOVE THE OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED BY KVEC AND FIRE SUMMIT!!!!
