Hello Folks! I am very excited about presenting at the Summit in April! This year I wrote a second grant which allowed me to purchase 6 Spheros for my classroom. I was not sure what I would do with them, but working with my science team mate, Joseph Larrimore, I did a unit that incorporated the use of the Spheros and coding on tablets!!!! This was a big deal for me. The students had to build a “rover” using K’Nex pieces that I had purchased a few years back with money from this same grant. The students had to code the Sphero to make the rover move to specific locations and perform a specific task. Talk about being a facilitator…I was certainly one on this “Far Out Adventure” that I created. Coding, computer science, any workings on the inside of a computer is not my thing, but the students took over and this was one of the most awesome and amazing times of my teaching career. I cannot wait to share what I have with all of you! See you in April.
