    • Zip Grade is a quick and efficient way to grade lots of papers and allows students to start bubbling in answers on answer sheets (which is a skill in itself). And you get so many scans free. 🙂

    We also face these problems! There are several electives that our teachers have expressed interest in offering (and that students have asked about), but we have to focus on graduation requirements. Good luck with your transition next year!

    I love this strategy. I’ve recently started with data notebooks for our weekly target checks in grammar. Students have to keep up with their original scores and the retakes and analyze their progress in each skill. I’m hoping to be able to incorporate this with on-demand writing as well.

    One method of assessment that I use within my classroom is the “gallery walk.” I incorporate movie/TV quotes or song lyrics and hang them on the walls.     • If students can recognize good work and find errors to make it great, then how much better will they be at producing great work themselves. I love the idea of using a gallery walk to do this.
