I am from a notebook, from lays and tostitos.
I am from a blanket, warm and comfy, that kept me and my family out of the cold during winter nights.
I am from the daisy, and from the I love yous and I love you nots.
I am from Sunday breakfasts with mamaw and humorous moments, from Mamaw Geraldine, my cousin Josh, and my mother Laura.
I am from the stubbornness of my parents and the sweetness of my grandparents.
From “Be kind to everyone” and “Never judge a book by its cover.”
I am from Old Regular Baptist and Sunday church dinners.
I am from Floyd County and Melvin, cornbread and fried chicken.
From the mischievous adventures of my grandparents, the weddings that occur in their backyard, and the cold nights me and my family sat through at football games.
I am from the walls of my grandmothers house, where all of her grandchildren’s memories hang.34 Comments-
this is a good poem i really like the port where it said “I am from daisy, and from the I love you and I love you nots” and I like where you said “from “Be kind to everyone” and “Never judge a book by its cover” and i would keep up the good work
