I wanted to share a tool with all administration and teachers that could be used for: Observations, PCLs, teacher created videos for online learning, student created videos. A couple of years ago, I read about a product called a Swivl, which attaches to your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, and several other devices that uses that devices recording device and turns it into a mobile video camera. Couple of years ago when I was part of the MDC, we were asked to record our classrooms to collect information on how students were dealing with misconceptions and the mathematical conversions that were going. To do this I had to place 5 iPads around the room and use them to record each session. What the swivl did for me was that it followed me around the room and as I talked to the students it recorded the conversations a 100% better, since you are wearing a recording device around your neck. Bluetooth technology sends the recording to the device on the iPad and merges it with the video. I also read that it is a tool that the national board certification recommends using to record your classroom lessons. There are so many things that I can do with this tool, but if you are looking for a game changing tool that COULD make some difference in your school, check it out. Finally, did I say that it works with LYNC, which means if you are looking for peer mentoring or observation tool with your teachers and staff. Here is the website: http://www.swivl.com
